We-Vibe Jive 2Put your hands in the air and wave them like you don’t care for this hands-free egg vibrator, the We-Vibe Jive 2. This wearable device is for daring escapades like public play, long-distance couples who want their partner to control the sensations, and those who crave app compatibility and intense G-spot stimulation. How does it stand up to other egg vibrators, and does it truly offer dual stimulation? Find out in my review!

Key Takeaways
4.6 out of 5 stars

What’s new with the Jive 2? The battery life has improved since the original, and We-Vibe included a remote control with the latest version. The shape has changed, too, so the Jive 2 offers more targeted G-spot stimulation.

The stimulations had a great range, starting very low and getting relatively high as you move through the settings. The lower settings are somewhat rumbly, but as you get higher, they turn buzzy quickly. The range means this toy will accommodate most people’s preferences, excluding those who need a seriously deep rumbly or a shriller buzz.

Who Is This For? Anyone wanting to add some buzz to their date nights will appreciate the discreet, quiet vibes the Jive 2 provides. G-spot enthusiasts will be able to climax, whether they prefer rumbly or buzzy vibes.

Who Is This Not For? If you’re happy with the original, there’s no serious reason to buy the new edition unless you need a remote control. You can also skip it if you need clitoral stimulation because even though this is marketed as a dual-stimulation egg vibe, the transfer of vibrations to the clitoris is minimal.

You Can Buy It on the official We-Vibe website for $129.

What Is We-Vibe Jive 2?

The We-Vibe Jive 2 is a remote-controlled egg vibrator made for date nights. Its comfortable design means you can wear the Jive 2 for long periods without feeling heavy or awkward. The egg-shaped part vibrates and stimulates the G spot, while the external arm has the power button and holds the device in place. Vibrations travel up the arm of the Jive 2 and can stimulate the clit, and the external arm also makes extraction easy. The stimulations range from buzzy to rumbly, and you can customize the experience with the We-Vibe app.

First Impressions and Features

Unboxing

We-Vibe delivers a solid unboxing. The box the Jive 2 comes in is sturdy and pretty, perfect for gifting. You will find a USB recharging cable, a cotton storage bag, instructions, and the toy inside the box. It would help if you had some lube on hand to get started. We-Vibe used to send lube with most of their devices, so I was sad to see it missing from this one.

How Do I Use We-Vibe Jive 2?

After unboxing the Jive 2, the next steps are to charge and wash it. First up is charging the egg vibrator as you’ll want to clean it just before you use it anyway. Grab the cable provided to plug the vibe in and allow about 90 minutes or longer if this is your first time charging it. The user manual suggested that it would take 90 minutes to charge and last up to four hours (or two hours in some places on the website). When I tested it, it took 87 minutes to charge and lasted four hours and forty-seven minutes on the first setting after a full charge.

Since the Jive 2 is waterproof, it’s a cinch to clean, too, despite the seams around the magnetic charging pins. Wash it with warm water and antibacterial soap or a sex toy cleaner. Dry it with a lint-proof cloth or allow it to air dry.

Next, grab some water-based lubricant. Water-based lubricant is the best choice for this all-silicone vibe. Water-based lube protects the body-safe exterior, whereas silicone lube can wear it down and make it porous. Place the lube inside your vagina and on the toy as well. Put some on your clit, too, if it makes the external arm more comfortable to wear. Slip the bulbous part inside and allow the small external arm to rest on your clitoris.

The user manual

Now, find the most comfortable position for the Jive 2. If you insert it and it feels too clampy, gently pull the external arm away to give your body more space. On the other hand, if you insert it and it feels like it will fall out, pull the arm in for a snugger fit. The hinge is at the base, and gently pulling or pushing it will adjust the angle.

Then, decide how to operate the Jive 2: remote, app control, or button. If you use the one-button control panel, you won’t get the most out of the device, but it is an easier learning curve. The button on the clitoral arm will turn the Jive 2 on and off when pressed and held. Then, when you press it briefly, it will take you through three increases in power and the various rhythms.

The remote control comes automatically paired with the egg vibrator, so all you need to do to begin is turn on the toy with the power button. There are five buttons on the remote control, and if you’ve used other We-Vibe devices with a remote control, you’ll be familiar with the setup as this is the same remote. The plus and minus buttons control the intensities, and the left and right buttons cycle through the patterns. The s-curved button is the We-Vibe button which you hold down for five seconds to turn on the remote control.

If you’ve paired the Jive 2 to the app, disconnect it from the app by going to “settings” and then “unpair We-Vibe.” Then, press and hold the power button until it vibrates twice to get it into pairing mode. Then, press the s-curved button on the remote control and hold it for five seconds. Voila! It’s re-paired to the remote control. The remote control has a 30-minute standby, so if it has been longer than half an hour, it will turn off and you’ll need to begin again. If your remote control becomes damaged, you can contact customer support to troubleshoot the problem or grab another one for $20.

To pair the Jive 2 to the app, press and hold the We-Vibe Jive 2 power button after downloading the We-Connect app. When it’s in pairing mode, the vibe will vibrate twice and the lights will flash. The app will then guide you through instructions to pair it with the toy. It’s a surprisingly intuitive process. If your partner will be playing with you long-distance, they will need to download the app as well, and then you can permit them to control the vibe from within the app. Once in the app, you can create rhythms, chat or call your partner, and read informative articles.

When finished, wash the Jive 2 and store it in the storage bag until next time.

My Personal Experience

Most other egg vibrators I’ve tried are single stimulation—the stimulations reach the G spot but not much further. Since this was advertised as a dual-stimulation vibrator, I was excited to see if the sensations would travel all the way to my clitoris. The external tip doesn’t have a separate motor, but the idea is that the rumbly vibrations will travel from the egg to the clitoral arm. In the past, relying on residual vibrations hasn’t worked well because the body tends to absorb and deaden a majority of the stimulations.

When I tried it, I could feel slight vibrations on my clitoris, but they were just barely there. I’m over-the-top sensitive, so I thought it was rather bold to market this as a dual-stimulation toy since the stimulation was too gentle for me. Most people who need direct clitoral stimulation to get off will not get enough from the Jive 2—you’ll need to be able to orgasm from G-spot stimulation alone unless you’re planning on using your hands or another device in tandem with this.

I also found that the hinge was flexible and not incredibly firm. It’s form-fitting, yet I found it easier to wear than some firmer C-shaped vibes, like the We-Vibe Chorus or Sync. I could easily wear this little egg all afternoon without any complaints.

Packaging

We-Vibe’s packaging is perfect. It’s not so luxurious that you worry all your money was spent on presentation rather than functionality, but it’s nice enough to be giftable. It feels elevated without being extravagant, and it’s the perfect mix of aesthetics with budget in mind.

The packaging

Design

The design is gorgeous and thoughtful. You can tell that seasoned pros put this egg vibe together.

I appreciated that the external arm wasn’t just flexible but also adjustable. There is a hinge so that you can pick a spot and the toy will stay in that position—at least temporarily. The hinge isn’t super firm, so there is a chance that it will move during play, but it’s also flexible enough to be highly comfortable.

We-Vibe Jive 2

My biggest concern with the design is whether it would be more comfortable than other wearable vibes. Some people like to use devices like this for long-term wear, and I wanted to find out if that would be possible. It’s an art to be able to make a toy with a comfortable shape that won’t fall out, and I honestly don’t know how they do it. But Jive 2 succeeded in this endeavor!

I have a minor design gripe, however. I wish that the remote control’s battery was rechargeable in addition to the vibrator. As is, if the battery runs out, you’ll have to replace it with another non-rechargeable CR2032 button cell battery. That type of battery didn’t sound familiar to me initially, but it’s readily available online, so it’s less of a big deal than I imagined.

Material

The Jive 2 is made with firm silicone. It’s waterproof, body-safe, and made for a high-end experience. I’m a little mystified, though, that the toy is waterproof but the remote is not. The experience is reduced to a bare minimum when you’re forced to use the one-button control panel, which you would be in the shower or pool. You will need a waterproof case for your phone to use the app if you want to use this in the shower and get the full functionality.

Stimulations

The We-Vibe Jive 2’s stimulations had a great range, starting very low and getting relatively high as you move through the settings. The lower settings are somewhat rumbly, but as you get higher, they turn buzzy quickly. The range means this toy will accommodate most people’s preferences, excluding those who need a seriously deep rumbly or a shriller buzz.

The device charging

I was a little disappointed in the transfer to the clitoris. There isn’t a motor in the external arm, so you are relying on the vibes traveling up the arm. There wasn’t quite enough transferred vibration for me, so I would typically use this with another clitoral vibrator.

Sound Level

Wearable vibes must be quiet first and foremost, or you won’t be wearing them anywhere. When I measured the sound level, it ranged from 34 to 48 decibels. This egg vibe will be much quieter once placed inside. As with all wearable vibrators, it’s a good idea to steer clear of metal chairs and wear supportive, well-fitting underwear to help keep it in place. Date night is not the time for granny panties!

Me measuring the sound level with a decibel meterGo somewhere with moderate background noise, like a busy restaurant or a bar with live music, so that your mind can focus on pleasure rather than nerves about whether the table next to you can hear your buzzy vagina.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The dimensions on the website listed are completely wrong, so I measured the Jive 2 to find out how big it was. The website says that it’s 540 mm wide, which would be 21 inches, and 105 mm long, which is 4-ish inches. It’s not nearly that big; in fact, it could fit into your pocket (the pocket of your jeans or nature’s pocket, the vagina.). It will fit in most purses and any luggage.

All the egg vibrators I tested

Ease of Use

For a vibrator with three options for use, the Jive 2 is surprisingly easy to control. The one-button interface may not be fancy, but it works. If you stick with operating the vibe that way, you’ll miss out on a lot of the exciting functionality, but if ease of use is important to you, that’s always an option.

We-Vibe Jive 2

The most difficult part of using the app or remote control is the pairing process. Once you get that down, you’re in the clear.

App

The We-Vibe app is decent, if not groundbreaking. It adds an extra level of playfulness that puts the “toy” back into a sex toy. You can create your own rhythms if you’re feeling fun, hand off control to your partner, or sync it with music. It’s not confusing, looks professional, and is fun to learn.

Other users have complained about the app’s connectivity, and this is the first time I experienced the same problem. It took several tries to connect the Jive 2 to the app, and I’m not sure why. It was frustrating, and randomly, it worked after many attempts.

Versatility

The We-Vibe Jive 2 gets a medium score for versatility. The app adds a degree of versatility since you can allow your long-distance partner to control the stimulations, add rhythms, and try others’ rhythms as well.

The remote control

You could use this for solo or partnered play, though some partnered activities are limited. The Jive 2 would pair well with anal sex or oral sex if you move the clitoral arm out of the way. However, though you could use it in tandem with anal sex, it’s not safe for anal use. I did try it externally as a clitoral vibrator, and it worked well. The vibrations were strong enough when the vibe was fully outside of my body but didn’t travel well through the arm.

Further, you could use this with another toy, like a bullet vibe, since it’s hands-free. It’s highly wearable, quiet, and portable, adding to its versatility.

Warranty and Support

We-Vibe offers a two-year warranty for the Jive 2 in addition to the 100-day pleasure guarantee. Those are great offers!

Minor Issues I Found During Testing

The We-Vibe Jive 2 egg vibrator is a thoughtful, well-designed, well-priced device. Yet a few things bothered me, if only slightly. For one, the remote control is neither waterproof nor rechargeable. Next, to truly market itself as a dual-stimulation vibe, I think there should be a motor in the clitoral arm, as the vibrations didn’t powerfully stimulate the external clit. Lastly and most importantly, the app was difficult to connect to.

Alternatives to We-Vibe Jive 2

We-Vibe Jive

The We-Vibe Jive walked so the Jive 2 could run. Massive improvements were made between these two editions, though some minor options were removed.

The Jive 2 lasts over double the amount of time as the original, making it the clear choice for extended play. The tail has been lengthened, making it easier to reach your clit, especially if yours is higher on your body than most. The egg is also shaped slightly differently, and the Jive 2 offers more targeted G-spot stimulations, whereas the original offered broader vibrations. The original came in two colors, blue or pink, and the Jive 2 only comes in pink. The storage bag was also a downgrade, going from a silky little number to a plainer cotton. The most significant change is that the original didn’t come with a remote control.

We-Vibe Jive

They both cost $129, so price won’t be a factor. Just make sure you use the code from our We-Vibe Jive review.

Lovense Lush 3

The Lovense Lush 3 has a lot in common with the Jive 2. For one, they both only come in neon pink. For two, they are app-compatible egg vibrators that are perfect for wearing. The Lush 3 lasted just under four hours, so the Jive 2 has a superior battery life. The Lush 3 has an enhanced app experience and will be better for cammers. Lush 3 costs about $140, slightly more than the Jive 2, but it doesn’t have a remote control.

OhMiBod Esca 2

The OhMiBod Esca 2 is an egg vibrator with a light at the tip, and it is app-compatible as well. The battery lasted over three hours when I tested it, and it does not come with a remote control. When I tested this, it had the worst app experience compared to Lovense and We-Vibe since it wasn’t intuitive and could be tricky to pair. The Esca 2 is not waterproof, only splashproof, but it costs $109, making it an excellent budget option but not incredibly versatile.

Lovense Vulse

Lovense Vulse is the most texturally interesting egg vibe on this list because its design includes pronounced ridges along the lower half. It’s also the only egg vibrator on this list that thrusts, making it an anomaly. The battery life is only an hour, so it’s a poor choice for tantra or extended playtime. The Lovense Vulse is compatible with Lovense’s app and is hands-free. It retails for $229 (though it’s often on sale for nearly half that), so it’s the most expensive egg vibrator on this list, but it also comes with the most bells and whistles. If you crave thrusting along with vibration, it’s the best option.
