Though described as a “detailed instruction manual,” the pamphlet I received was barely a brief overview of what the toy is and included next to no information on how to use it or what to expect. How Do I Use LELO DOT Travel?
Using the LELO DOT Travel is intuitive, but you’ll need to charge it to get started. The sex toy comes with a USB charging cable. Plug the bottom end in, and when it’s charging, you’ll see the intersection of the buttons slowly light and dim indicating that it is getting juiced. When it’s fully charged, the lights will remain lit.
The user manual estimated that it would take up to two hours to charge and then last up to one hour on a full charge. I was surprised by this estimate since one of the features marketed heavily on the website is a long battery life—and one hour isn’t super long. However, when I tested it, it lasted two hours and ten minutes on the first setting and took just under ninety minutes to charge. The battery life relative to charge time is average, if not below average, but the power makes up for the lackluster ratio.
After it’s fully charged, wash it with antibacterial soap and water or a sex toy cleaner if you have one on hand. Get in all the crevices! Then, let it air dry or, if you’re in a rush to use your new toy (and who isn’t?), wipe it dry with a lint-proof towel.
Now that it’s clean and charged, you are almost to the fun part! Grab some water-based lubricant. The personal moisturizer that comes inside the box is perfect for this job. Steer clear of silicone lubricant with this silicone-based device, as when you combine the two, it can erode the body-safe exterior of the vibe and leave you with a toy that will be impossible to sanitize. My Personal Experience
I am a pinpoint princess, and clitoral vibration is my absolute favorite thing, so I was beyond excited to find out what the LELO DOT Travel had to offer. Would the elliptical shape be noticeably different from the other toys that live on my nightstand? I needed answers.

When I received the LELO DOT Travel, it came in a plain brown package, but the return label did say “LELO” on it—so keep that in mind if you need top-tier discretion. Your neighbors won’t know, but those you live with might if they are familiar with the brand.
Inside the cardboard box was a beautifully giftable black box with luxurious extras curated and neatly stowed inside.
Design
When I first played with this toy, I worried that the pinpoint tip was perhaps too bendable. The tip is so slender and the material so soft that I was concerned that the flexibility might make it fragile or prone to breakage. I often accidentally drive vibrators into me as I near climax—even when I’m trying to be careful—so the tiny tip made me nervous.
Fortunately, it stood up to my use. Even though I did my best not to crush it into me, I still did a little bit, and the toy performed beautifully. Stimulations
The stimulations on the LELO DOT Travel were surprisingly rumbly for something with so fine a point. I was pleasantly shocked by the fact that the tiny tip transferred vibrations deep into my core. If you want the vibrations only in one place, hold only the tip on your clit. But if you crave more all-over sensation, angling the vibe slightly to the side adds an incredible depth to the experience. You can switch from a tingly buzz to a moderate rumble by changing the position and the intensity.
When I tested the DOT Travel out, I tried to specifically feel the elliptical-shaped vibrations that the site advertised. While I couldn’t distinguish a difference in the shape of the stimulations, I noticed that the vibrations somehow just felt better all around.
After trying out all the settings, I think this little vibe will satisfy those who favor either buzzy or lightly rumbly sensations. It performs spectacularly on both ends of the spectrum, but it leans more towards buzzy. Yet the motor is so powerful that I never needed to go beyond the first setting before reaching climax.
Sound Level
The sound level corresponds to the strength of this pinpoint vibe. It’s a strong vibe, and you can hear that. For best results, you’ll want to use a toothbrush to detail these parts from time to time.

There were only a couple of things that were less than stellar about this vibe. First, the charge time to use time could be better. Alternatives to the LELO DOT Travel
LELO DOT
The LELO DOT was the inspiration for DOT Travel, and there are some noteworthy differences between the two. The design is different, as the original LELO DOT has a handle, making it easier to hold when things get slippery but not as easy to fit into a small shoulder bag. The original also comes in an additional color—aqua—and costs quite a bit more: $179 when not on sale, $116 on the sale posted as of this writing. The sizes are comparable, and the original DOT is just over one inch longer than the Travel. I was surprised by how similar they were, and I would have thought that the Travel would be much more compact than the original, but that’s not quite the case.
Comparing the two, the original LELO DOT doesn’t have enough upgrades to justify the nearly double price tag and is only worth buying if it is on sale. Otherwise, the LELO DOT Travel is the way to go unless you need a handle for stability.

Lovense Hyphy
The Hyphy by Lovense is another pinpoint clitoral stimulator, but it looks rather like a dentist’s tool. Design-wise, the DOT Travel is much prettier. However, the Hyphy is a double-ended vibrator, with the pinpoint side prepped for clits and nipples and the other end shaped for G-spot satisfaction. It comes with three attachments, including circular, u-shaped, and tongue-shaped ends. The U-shaped one would be perfect for nipples, and the tongue is a fun choice for any part that loves to be licked. The storage case charges the device, and the Hyphy has a much longer battery life. It’s also more versatile, thanks to the range of attachments and capacity for internal use. The Hyphy is the better choice for anyone unsure if they’ll enjoy pinpoint stimulation since it has other options.
